A preliminary study of printed electronics through flexography impression on flexible substrates

The work is framed within Printed Electronics, an emerging technology for the manufacture of electronic products. Among different printing methods, roll-to-roll flexography technique used because it allows continuous manufacturing and high productivity at low cost. Apart from process parameters, ink substrate properties are some variables associated with flexographic printing. Specifically, this study investigates penetration, print uniformity, adhesion, fastness, electrical behaviour same conductive silver printed on flexible substrates through process. In addition to polymeric siliconized paper substrates, which typical in electronics, two were also chosen study: woven nonwoven fabric. Optical, scanning microscope (SEM), 4-point Kelvin colour fastness wash rubbing analyses have been performed. results concluded that, regarding conductivity behaviour, porous like textiles fabrics without pre post treatments do not present acceptable results, whereas polymers or silicone papers do.
